Playlist Mover — Privacy Policy

Playlist Mover is a desktop application that runs entirely on your own computer. This policy explains what data it accesses and what happens to it.

What data the app accesses

• Spotify: the names and contents (song titles, artists, durations) of playlists you own. Access is read-only.
• YouTube (via Google): your YouTube channel identity, and the ability to create playlists in your account and add videos to them. The app requests the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube scope for this purpose.

How the data is used

Your Spotify playlist contents are used only to search YouTube for matching videos and add them to a new private playlist in your YouTube account. That is the app's sole function.

Where the data goes

• Everything stays on your computer. Playlist Mover has no server and sends nothing to the developer or any third party.
• The only network connections are to Spotify's API and Google's YouTube Data API, made directly from your PC on your behalf.
• Sign-in tokens for Spotify and Google, plus a progress file recording which songs have been copied, are stored in a folder named _playlistmover_data next to the program so you don't have to sign in again. Deleting that folder removes all stored data.

YouTube API Services

Playlist Mover uses YouTube API Services. By using it you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Data retention and deletion

Playlist Mover keeps no data anywhere except the _playlistmover_data folder on your own computer (sign-in tokens and a list of which songs were copied). Nothing is retained by the developer because nothing is ever sent to the developer. To delete all stored data, delete that folder; to revoke the app's access to your YouTube account, visit myaccount.google.com/permissions. Playlists the app created remain in your YouTube account under your control and can be deleted there like any other playlist.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Playlist Mover's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide the playlist-copying feature described above; it is never sold, never used for advertising, and never transferred to others.

Revoking access

You can revoke the app's access at any time: for Google at myaccount.google.com/permissions, and for Spotify at spotify.com/account/apps. Deleting the _playlistmover_data folder removes the stored tokens locally.
